Article I: Celebrating Diversity and Empowerment at Stanford Health Care with BEAM Team
On February 13, 2024, the Black Employee Advancement and Mentorship Employee Resource Group (BEAM Team) celebrated two pivotal moments: Black History Month and the completion of their “Bold Moves” initiatives - a series of diversity, equity, and inclusion programs, specifically designed by and for the BEAM Team members

 

  Research

Article I: What factors play into parental stress and anxiety during their child’s PICU admission and follow-up? 
To understand the complexities of parental stress and anxiety, Zaina Alzawad, PhD, MANP, M.Ed., RN, Nurse Scientist at Stanford Health Care’s Office of Research Patient Care Services, and her dedicated team, have recently concluded a pilot study, the results of which have now been published in the Journal of Pediatric Health Care in January 2024.

Article II: Developing Nurses and Interdisciplinary Teams in Caring Science
Aubrey L. Florom-Smith, PhD, RN, AFASMA, Nurse Scientist at Stanford Health Care’s Office of Research Patient Care Services, with colleagues Tina Cartwright, DNP, RN, NPD-BC, NEA-BC, and Peggy Jenkins, PhD, RN, CNE, recently published the article, Developing Nurses and Interdisciplinary Teams in Caring Science in The Journal of Nursing Administration’s February 2024 publication.

Dr. Alice Yan, Dr. Michelle Y. Williams, Dr. Richard Oyekan, and Carol Yoon of Stanford Health Care’s Office of Research, Patient Care Services recently published in The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) in March 2024.

Article I: ORPCS Nurse Scientist Appointed as a Board Fellow with the American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing!
The Office of Research Patient Care Services at Stanford Health Care is proud to announce that Nurse Scientist, Dr. Chrystal Lewis, , has been selected as the 2024-2025 Emerging fellow by the American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing’s (AAACN). 

Article II: Stanford Health Care Holds Inaugural Health Equity Symposium
Stanford Health Care's inaugural Health Equity Symposium, coordinated by Stanford Medicine and the Martin Luther King Jr. Research and Education Institute, took place on January 17th, 2024. 

Article III: Stanford Health Care Attends 46th Annual ACNL Conference 
Over 60 nurses and others from Patient Care Services at Stanford Health Care attended the 46th Annual ACNL Conference in Monterey, CA, from February 4th to 7th 2024 with the theme of “Navigating the Changing Tides.”

Article IV: 2023 Cycle II Legacy Grant Recipients
The Stanford Nurse Alumnae awards Legacy Grants to 8 recipients Cycle II of 2023. The grants are intended to perpetuate the Stanford University School of Nursing’s tradition of excellence in nursing practice, leadership, education, and research.
